I like the kind with the chocolate tops, like some of it here.
Even more so, the chocolate pieces from the sort of assortment that those pumpkins usually come from.
If it’s Halloween mix, they might be “black” cats or bats; if it’s “harvest” mix, perhaps brown leaves.
…
When I was a kid, you could buy it loose from the candy counter at Woolworth’s… sometimes a nice saleslady would kindly try to dig out more chocolate pieces, as I politely requested in my nickel’s worth.
…
I still like it… but the problem is, you can’t buy a nickel’s worth any more… not even for 50 cents.
You have to buy a bag of at least 8 or 9 oz…. and after two or three cats, or a small handful of “corn”, I’ve satisfied that craving for another year… or three.
…
BTW… some of you may also remember pretty much the same sugary chocolate candy also coming in a small box … I only used to see it at the movies.
Shaped like tiny baby dolls, it was called “Chocolate Babies.”
The racial implications were totally lost on me, till it disappeared from most theaters, with a sort of collective “oops”, in the late 1960’s or early 70’s.
Sorry, Susan, but while Phobos and Deimos, being moons, are probably made of some kind of cheese, these surveyors are on the surface of Mars.

“I shot this image at Lake Clark National Park around 7 a.m. when the sun was rising and there was a beautiful fog over the river,” explains McCormick. “I got extra lucky with a bear coming around the corner looking for his breakfast.”
She titled it “Misty Morning.”
Lake Clark National Park is in Alaska (call it 120 miles 20° south of west from Anchorage).

Can’t say I remember ever seeing this one before. But the drawing style and look of the characters appears older. Am I correct in thinking that this was after Cleo began to talk, but before she began “acquiring” her own heavy weaponry?
but more to the already retro style of late 1960s, early 1970’s, underground cartoonists, like R. Crumb, with sketchy drawing and exaggerated halftone..
It works, but not like GoComics.
In WordPress you’ll get an email in the inbox of the address you used to set up your account.
Since you have to check your emails, I find it easier to simply check my comments directly.
Perhaps that’s what you’ve been doing all this time?
If you DON’T click it, as you’re asking about, nothing happens.
…
I’m not sure how else you might “know” someone read it…
but it doesn’t make you psychic, or put it on a “profile page”, like GoComics (though I wish it did), or notify you in any other way… so unless you click the bell, you’re left with coming back to check the comment yourself.
That’s what I do anyway, cos I make a lot of comments, and don’t want a lot of email… though actually, not that many get replies, anyway.
…
If it’s way back, and you don’t remember on which date, you CAN go to the top of the current page, right under where you’d enter a fresh comment, where it says “75 comments” or however many there are
Click the small icon that looks like a pawn with a tiny gear wheel, and it opens a little window with tabs.
One tab is all your own past comments, only a few per tiny “page”.. .. but it’s a little faster to look through than waiting for whole Cleo days to load…
Though I have to admit I never remember to use it.

Call me weird if you like, but I like candy corn.
I’m weird, too.
I loved it as a kid. Can’t stand it now.
They are good with peanuts
Hi meadowmary!
Welcome to Cleo and Company!
Know what else is good with peanuts? More peanuts!
me too
And I like it, too!
It’s just sugar!
That’s the beauty of it!
And?????

chocolate babies were my favorite movie theater candy. Got them every time
I went to the movies . You’re right , Susan—I never saw it in stores
I got them pretty often too.
I liked “real” chocolate better, but you got a lot more chocolate babies for your dime… or actually 12 cents at our theater in Cleveland.
never could stand the stuff.

“Spare some kibble?”
Hullo Bright-eyes!
what a sweetie!

More proof that the moon is made of cheese… though not necessarily green cheese.

I must have been very tired last night. I read the poster title as this: “Survivors Wanted”.
I did too, till I came back and re-read the page.
I remember thinking it was a very odd search.
Good to know I wasn’t the only one!!!

nope. this is actually the most recent. It was just an experimental change n style
I guess we can get used to whatever you do, but I do not care for this style.
More planes, please!
,,,,
I like it!
Retro style, harking back to 1930’s comic art…
but more to the already retro style of late 1960s, early 1970’s, underground cartoonists, like R. Crumb, with sketchy drawing and exaggerated halftone..
or even to Lichtenstein, with his Ben Day dots.
So Cleo can hack her way into sensitive government and military websites…
she sure knows more about computers than Claude and Clara do.
Luckily, this is a cartoon.
You can always tell by the halftone.
noodles
Most people, including me, tend to forget that noodles are a form of pasta; and as it’s both seafood and pasta month……
Oodles of ’em.
check out Tiffany Poon–she plays with elegance and style
I listened to it while doing today’s crossword (I had to start “Clair de Lune” too / I’m still listening as I type this).
it is a BEAUTIFUL concert! i have it playing right now. she is amazing!
Fighter isn’t accurate enough without laser ground support, but ya gotta love her hacking skills.
Good morning Cleophans!
Y’all take care of each other. (((((HuGz!)))))
a very merry un-birthday to you…………….
Here’s a quick question for NH or anyone familiar.. If I don’t click the notify bell will I know when someone replies to my post?
Just curious.
