He’s beautiful!

Google says he’s a Mudi… a Hungarian herding dog, a little smaller than a border collie, and a wee bit less energetic… which still gives him plenty of room to be energetic, cos that’s like saying a bit less so than a cyclone.

The only akc herding dog with a merle coat, which means this kaleidoscopic mixture of colors.

In case you need…

a little help….
This is Robin Williams and Christopher Reeve, who were friends ever since their acting school days.

I recently saw a video with a guy in leg casts like this.

I dunno if the wires here are the same… But his had electrodes that stimulated his leg muscles, and he was learning to walk, when they’d thought he couldn’t.

Heh. Did the chair thing at work once. Leaned back to join in the conversation in the office next to mine, and went over. Ann swears it was slow motion in real life. Took her weeks to stop laughing every time she saw me.

I dunno, maybe it’s just me… But somehow I think falling backwards into a deep rocky pit(?) is a little more serious than spilling your cheetos.

Why is he out there in a rocking chair? And what is he holding?

Horses and electric street cars. Either way, you have to watch where you step.

Yup … according to my search, everybody agrees that this is Boston, Massachusetts, in October 1909….

But then it gets weird, cos most sites label it “Newsboy starting to flip a car”… even on Alamy, even the Library of Congress! A couple of sites mention his playfulness or mischief.

I do see a newsboy… he’s walking between a streetcar and a horsedrawn wagon. I see no car. No mischief.

Well… that might be a car, down at the end of the block. If he’s starting to flip it, he’s got incredibly powerful vision.

I’m sure he’s not going to flip it in the sense of buying it and selling it for more… not only did a newsboy not have enough money for a dented fender in 1909, nobody used that expression.

So…. if you see something I’ve missed, let me know….

Or if this is supposed to be the caption for a different picture (which I couldn’t find) do we still believe it’s a picture of Boston in 1909? I vote yes…. up to you whether you do.

Well, there is a street car and a horse drawn car — but that newsboy doesn’t look up to flipping either one of them…

Exactly.

And that might be a motorcar, parked farther down the street… but I can’t see it well enough to be certain. Anyway, he’s in no way “starting to flip” it.

I’m pretty sure I have it… But IF I have it, I’m annoyed.

Spoilerish big hint, but not the solution.

The animals all look like small pigs, except the dogs have dog ears and tails…

And the putative “polar bear” is the same size pig body, with little rounded ears and a bunny tail. And possibly helping pull the dogsled (he’s in the right place but maybe not in the harness, which would leave one sled short a dog)

O. K . Thanks.
Well, that clears it up, then, doesn’t it.

Uh huh.

Just a teeny quibble or two…

1… the teeniest… I never correct people’s spelling, even if it sets my teeth on edge… But if I were making a video with words on screen in a huge font, and one of those words appeared like… I dunno… 6, 8, 10 times… Think I’d look it up before misspelling DEUCE all over the place.

2. The bigger one… it still makes no sense! Even WITH all the words!

LOL…

I always thought “revved up like a deuce” referred to a car, just like “little deuce coupe”… seeing this, I think that’s right.

But the rest?

Wellll…….

BTW… Manfred Mann were one of the English bands that did sound American when they sang.

They also came and went and changed personel and names and everything else so often I never had any idea who was in the group, except I think Jack Bruce before Cream.
