Here is “Lonesome Ghosts” (I remember posting this back in the Sherpa days).
Daily Motion no longer allows direct copying of the U.R.L., and it’s added advertisements before playing its videos( the resolution for “Lonesmome Ghosts” is really good though ).
The full cartoon of “Betty Boop’s Hallowe’en Party“.
This is the best resolution I’ve found ( I recommend steering absolutely clear of the very poorly done colourized version even if you can find a better resolution).
The clouds are translucent, because, well, water vapor. When they are in front of a dark sky they glow from the diffused moonlight. When in front of the moon, they shadow the brighter moonlight.
I personally would have gone with a lighter shade of shadow in front of the moon, but “Artistic Differences”. And, I’m no artist.
By Wikipedia, this is a Northern white-faced owl.
The “Northern” part of its name probably derives from the fact that its natural habitat {the photograph was taken by a gentleman by the name of Roy Leader at the Exmoor Owl & Wildlife Sanctuary ( LINK ) in England} is on the African continent (quoting from Wikipedia):
“It is found in a band across Africa between the Sahara and the Equator”
The Packers Giants game in London is a Packers Giants game.
Whether the Cheeseheads in the crowd are ex-pats or visiting, they’re there, and good on them ! ! Start of 4th :
Giants ball just made the Packers 14..
GB: 20 NYG 14
Giants now 1st and goal at Packers 2.
Converted TD. 20 – 20 game (10 minutes left).
After a bunch of bumbling by both teams, 27 20 Giants.
I can’t find an answer to a punt question, so I’ll ask later.
Four minutes left Packers coming back. 1st down at the Giants 44
Two minute warning Packers first down at Giants 15
1:02 Giants held Packers at 4th and two. Probably game over. Giants tipped two passes in a row.
Clock issues .
Safety points to Packers.
Packers offside (5 yard penalty) Final 27 Giants, Packers 22

Hmmm… If that’s the moon… looking huge because it’s still near the horizon….
the cat and clouds would seem to be slipping behind it… in which case the moon is flat, translucent, and backlit.
…
OK, they might be crossing in front of it…. turning into dark silhouettes because the moon is lighting them only from behind…
But then, what was lighting the front of them before that, and why did it stop?
…
OR, it’s a cartoon, and cartoon physics applies…. and I need to go to bed.

Interesting. What kind of owl is that?

“No! You wouldn’t kid about a thing like that, would you?”
Hmm, So did the Supremes singing about a symphony put you in mind of Strauss? No use delving into the mind of Nighthawks.
It’s pumpkin month ’til the end of the month so…
Claude had better whisper… library or not.
Four hamburgers, two orders of fries… this sure sounds like dinner for two.
Let’s face it, he wouldn’t leave himself out…. so that means he’s either not getting anything for Clara, or he’s leaving out Cleo. Uh oh.
…
Either way, it could be even more dangerous to his health than merely eating two hamburgers with fries and a milkshake….
so he’d better be quiet and sneaky about it.
…
Oh yeah…. and if your eyes are so bad you can’t tell the library from McDonald’s or Jack-In-The-Box…..
just remember the right place should smell more like hamburgers than books, when you walk in the door.
tiramisu
…
he’s moving in time to ‘The Blue Danube’!!!
Not sure what Claude has been smokin’, but there was a time I would’ve wanted some.
Good morning Claudettes and Cleophanatics! Up to 41 today.
Grab some moldy cheese and kiss a Viking. Y’all have a great day. (((((HuGz!)))))
Erickson?!?
No Idea. Copy and paste. Just a ‘k’ then?
I’ve never assumed that it’s your fault.
But they even provided the picture of a stamp with the correct spelling…
Herr, wirf Hirn vom Hmmel.
My Oxford English Dictionary has:
E-r-i-c-s-s-o-n / E-r-i-c-s-o-n /E-r-i-k-s-s-o-n
My New World Dictionary has:
E-r-i-c-s-s-o-n / E-r-i-c-s-o-n
My World Book Encyclopedia has:
E-r-i-c-s-o-n
Wilkipedia has:
E-r-i-k-s-o-n / E-r-i-k-s-s-o-n (with L-e-i-v as a first name) / E-r-i-c-s-o-n
Listed by order of preferred (or only) spelling in each. Wikipedia only has L-i-e-v as a first name variation; the others all list L-i-e-f.
You-pays–your-money-you–takes-your–choice, I guess.
Wouldn’t the correct spelling be in Norse runes? And doesn’t that make any written form in another alphabet merely phonetic?
I’ll pass on the moldy cheese. Might kiss a viking if I run into one ~ extremely doubtful since I’m staying home today.
And a great day to you, Plods!
oh Claude, Claude, Claude! didn’t you ever learn to use your ‘inside voice’ when you’re in the library?
