It disappeared… I re-posted.

Hours later, while I was sleeping, it came back.

Sigh… WordPress, or my Wi-Fi, or the Internet itself…

Something is trying to gaslight me!

WordPress! Like last week when I didn’t have a delete option for a picture even though the option was clearly and simply presented in prior weeks.

Yes, and we’re so used to it that correct maps look wrong.

The Authagraph projection is thought to be the most accurate map available… but due to growing up with Mercator maps in school, I find it somehow a bit disturbing.

Not so good if you’re navigating from Australia to the South Pole…

Yes… They say it’s not spread out like Greenland on a Mercator map….

But the southern hemisphere is completely splayed out and distorted.

You just can’t print a round surface on a flat one without some changes….

So you pick which changes you’ll accept, and call it better, even if it’s actually only different.

Wow .. expensive machine!

$3.95 back in the 30s or 40s would probably be close to $100 today.

You could still buy a hot dog from a cart for a nickel. Probably a dime at the ball park, where prices were inflated.

No, I wasn’t around. But I was around 30 years later, when a hot dog at the Woolworth’s snack bar was 25¢, and this picture is older than that.

Not to mention that a whole pound of hot dogs was about 25¢, and can still sometimes be had on sale at the grocery store for $1.

A luxury toy with no other purpose…. Wonder how many sold.

Take away the gap – most of us have done that in PE. And much further than that.

It’s true that Keaton was pretty short, but I’d say that gap is almost twice his height… Perhaps 8 or 9 feet.

I don’t think many kids in my class jumped much farther than their height.

And with the gap, a misstep could be fatal, so it’s hard to be nonchalant, and pretend it’s not there.

I don’t think I’ve ever jumped a distance greater than my height. At best maybe 1′ (0.3m) more than my height.

This is Buster Keaton, who started show business as a kid, in an acrobat act with his parents, and later did all his own stunts.

I thought I posted this last night but a couple of my comments disappeared… Then one came back after I reposted

Silly Internet.

It was a bug like this (actually a fly, not a wasp) that impressed my mother so much when I showed her one under the microscope.

Ummm… It does persist after death, so it isn’t [*] like some golden beetles…

[* I don’t have a word for the alternative — “life force” sounds way too metaphysical.]

This is the best one that i have seen yet.
It’s a cabin, not a mobile.
Im not sure about the size of the yard, or if there is a fence.
It has a view.

I love the lake view!
You’ll spend much more time looking from your house than looking at it. I see that it includes floors; it’s always useful to have those ☺.

Is it not a mobile? Looks like a classic double-wide from the photos.

Probably a no go. It needs major septic repairs, a new deck, foundation work. and the roof needs repairs or replaced. At least one tree is a problem, and the carport needs major repair or replacement. Doretta did say that i could probably get it for $200k. But the septic would be over $40k. I’m still going to go look at it.

That is a LOT of major repair expense. Likely more than a bid of $200K would save you.

Found nine, thought ‘Yay!’ Saw your comment, thought ‘Boo!’ (Or words to that effect), went back, looked through it again and found the tenth. Funny thing is the tenth one I found turned out easier to spot than a couple of the others I found before!

I titled the solution to this puzzle, “Dogs on Bikes.”
Good eye, Susan. 🙄

I just realized there are, in each panel, one dog, four cats, and I think six birds.

I hope my eye was doing a little better when I solved it!

Find ten differences, or come as close as you can…. Then check out what I found…

Right HERE!

comment image

Tiny little kind of spoilerISH thing you might want to check if you’re very close, before you look at my solution.

But it doesn’t really give away anything.
There is one difference you might see as two, but it’s actually only one.

lf you’ve found anything that makes you question it in that regard, it’s probably one…. so you might need to find another.

An oopsie on the part of the person trying to draw squares with a small stylus on a smartphone…

A person who didn’t even notice the stray mark till she posted the solution.

And even if she had, she might not have been able to correct it without removing most of her work, and doing it all over, because you can only go back on step at a time till you get to it… and then there’s no redo button.

She meant to point it out, though, and forgot.

Not naming any names cos I don’t want to get her in trouble.

Shhh..

🙏
