A picture link of Errol Flynn and his girlfriend (17-(or 22 by some captions)-year old Beverly Aadland) leading to a “National Post” retrospective (listed as a 5-minute read) about Flynn’s death (Wednesday, October 14, 1959) in Vancouver, British Columbia.
If you like black comedies, a good one could be made of Flynn’s final hours.
Things like that have been done before.
A black comedic play was written by playwright Heathcote Williams of British comedian Tony Hancock’s suicide called “Hancock’s Last Half Hour.”
I still remember the final scene .
With regard to Flynn; scotch taping them back in place?
If that isn’t a black comedy scene….
I do get the “tsk, tsk” sentiment of the article’s author, Tristan Hopper.
During one fight sequence, Errol Flynn was jabbed by an actor who was using an unprotected sword–he asked him why he didn’t have a guard on the point. The other player apologized and explained that director Michael Curtiz had instructed him to remove the safety feature in order to make the action “more exciting”. Flynn reportedly climbed up a gantry where Curtiz was standing next to the camera, took him by the throat and asked him if he found that “exciting enough”
That or, “I really didn’t mean to chew the leg off the coffee table…”

From swords to firearms, this is an escalation. I hope their aim continues to be bad until Perro and the (rather unladylike) senorita get out of harm’s way!

I wonder what he is reading to that dog. Human Life for Idiots? The Cat in the Hat Comes Back? A Dog and his Boy?
Somewhere in my house, I have a little book of stories you’re supposed to read to your dog.
Kind of like Stel’s posters or Cleo’s own adventures, it replaces fairy tale characters with dogs.
…
I’m sure it was written facetiously… but I read it to my dog, anyway, one story at a time, and her expression was rapt.
I like to think she enjoyed the tales, and not just the fact that I was sitting there talking to her.

A mean-spirited article… but what one expects from the National Post, I suppose.
And true, Erroll Flynn was no saint.
But honestly, Alexi… a comedy about his death??? Brrrrr.

Errol Flynn as ‘Robin Hood’ in 1938
Lady Marian Fitzswalter: Why, you speak treason!
Robin Hood: Fluently!

Neither team had good pitching tonight.
lost by a touchdown
LOL!!
¡Cleomigos! ¡Cleomigas!
Perro™ rides! And with a passenger!
The plot not only thickens… it starts to boil over and solidify!
…
A daring escape.. bullets flying everywhere…
Everywhere except where they’re supposed to go… (according to those as shot’em)…
…luckily, of course, for Perro™ and the lovely Señorita Voluptuosa!
…
That guard who saw them did not turn out to be a friend… or a great marksman…
and his fellow guards seemed to have trained at the same Academia Militar de Payasos... i.e. the Clown Military Academy.
…
The lovely Señorita saved room for Perro™.
A good call…. cos otherwise he’d have landed right on top of her.
Now run, Toronado! Gallop like the wind!
Forerunners of Storm Troopers.
ah, the Imperial Storm Troopers. Turns out their intense training didn’t have the budget for target practice
