I like that the art is on the fronts… That way, you can enjoy it in your hand as you play.
A deck with the usual faces and a pretty back has only one picture, and obviously, you can only see it when the cards are face down.
This would be much more entertaining.
….
The local art museum where I volunteered some years ago was going to have some playing cards made, to sell as a fund raiser…
The director’s idea… a bridge set, I believe, two decks in a holder.
The backs, she said proudly, were going to showcase 50 works of art from their collection.
….
Some of us had to point out that you don’t print cards with different pictures on the backs, because after a few games, they’d be a dead giveaway to the values on the fronts.
The director hadn’t thought of that.
…
Eventually they used the photos to make a little book…
Luckily the printing was volunteered or it would have cost more than the sales brought in. Sigh…
From yesterday.
I took a screen snip from its opening frames (in tumblr) and posted it as an attachment below.
It’s about 2/3 down the page; as four markers before it, in order, look for your: “The Most Interesting Basset,” animation, the “Terminator” strip, the flies-in-soup-animation, and the “Basset Trek” animation. The “Perro” animation is next in the order.
If you haven’t seen Happy³’s “Apropos of nothing…” posting at the bottom of yesterday’s page, it’s really interesting.
I fully agree with Perkycat’s “Pretty clever!!”.
In order to have corned beef hash you must have corned beef.
None of my cook books had a method so I went to the internet.
The picture link below leads to the method for corning beef.
I would not “jump” straight to the recipe, as there are explanations in the lead-in.
Too, the recipe doesn’t mention the 5-day brining period, only the cooking time.

Notes from me:
To aid in the brining process, use a longer blade paring knife to stab the beef all over, twisting the blade before removal (this can be quite therapeutic if you want it to be / I learned to do this when making my mother’s Spice Meat recipe which requires marinating) .
This looks like one of the amazing carousels in the House on the Rock in Wisconsin.
It’s been 20+ years since I’ve been there. It may be time to go back.
I haven’t been there since the sixties…
I don’t remember there being carousels or anything of the sort…
Just the house, which I loved.
I’ve wished I could live in it, ever since.
Except for, you know, the snow and stuff.
Double like!
Beautiful.

Amazing guitar solo by Terry Kath!
Good choice!!
Mia Woofiscowa is a dream! And Stel has squeezed in all out favorites.
It’s going to take some time to view all the other material.

Ah yes. The original Perro—forgot about that one….thought you were talking about
the 22 episode series that is winding down.
thanks for the reminder!

Wowie zowie!
An AMAZING poster, indeed, from StelBel….
It’s gorgeous, Stel!
….
It’s the live action Dogsknee movie out of which her Mad Basset stepped….
He’s in her prior beautiful treatment of this film, with which she casually graces us in an extra post tonight.
…
She shows us far more of the cast, this time.
So many characters…
including the lovely young Mia Woofiscowa (I hope I spelled that right!) as Alice…
who, BTW, in Burthound’s film is a fairly grown-up 19-year-old, and NOT the schoolgirl of earlier versions.
…
Alice must go back to Wonderland to save the White Queen… played by Anne Howlaway…
(who was then best known for another series of films where she played a young princess)…
…..from the machinations of the evil Red Queen…
unexpectedly played, against type, by the sweet faced Helena Basset-Cur-Ter.
Probably quite a romp for a dog always shown as quiet and obedient, just because of her looks.
She must have enjoyed the chance to lay back her ears (if only a bit, in basset fashion) and show some teeth!
….
I see that Stel has placed the Red Queen front and center….
Having, no doubt, some sympathy with a fellow(?) evil Queen.
….
Just…um… kidding, Stel…. I kid.
You know….. I kid.
Some of my best friends are evil queens.
wowie zowie indeed!

Walt Disney 1951 and 2010. As always, click through the clutter and go full screen.
Always love the Alice in Bassetland poster. So cute and colorful and lots of details to enjoy! Good videos to go with it.
Absolutely LOVE this poster and Stel Bel’s related materials.
