I’m pretty sure this is the same woman and dog.
If I’m right, I’m guessing both photographs were part of a professional shoot.
Other research indicates that both are part of a collection of photographs collected by H. Armstrong Roberts who is credited with starting the world’s first stock photo company (think Alamy, Getty Images etc.).

The Painting is titled ‘Crosby and Howard’
The New York City building has undergone some renovations since the painting

Looks like they removed the fire hydrant from in front of the door.

Somehow, I am surprised that this flyer promotes the third class accommodations. I would have thought they wanted to promote first class.

Given that most of the accommodation on board would be Third Class, they’d want to pack them in, and most of the posters/flyers would be seen by potential Third Class passengers. The First Class passengers would hear about the ship and the sailing by word of mouth from their ‘Gentleman’s Clubs’.

Yes… and ads for more expensive accommodations were probably placed in the Wall Street Journal, and high end magazines, and the like.

A tycoon wouldn’t be walking down the street, looking at posters on lampposts…. which is not to say that actually poor people could afford to go.

A third class ticket would have cost over a month’s wages for, say, a shop clerk, and a 1st class ticket over ten times as much.

I want a faux pearl “necklace” for my girl, but she would break anything not strung on piano wire.
I’m not sure how good of an idea that would be.

No, IMHO.

Piano wire would cut her mouth if she tried hard enough to get the beads.

The “pearls” in this picture look like those translucent plastic beads molded right onto the string… they don’t slide on it or come off.

If they’re long enough for her to reach, though, a determined pup can manage to crack them off in pieces… at which point they’re tiny and sharp.

Even a collar can come undone and fall off to be chewed.

And with the way the puppy chews on everything, no.
He chews on her tags all the time.

Another good find.
I wish I knew more about European/German politics from that time. As it is, with the exception of the anti-Nazi ones I have no idea what the cartoons are satirizing.

From yesterday.
Maybe this link will work better for you.
There is only one piece of clutter, but you do have to click through it.
1.  When you first click the “Start” arrow you’ll end up the page shown in the attachment.
2.  Do nothing other than close its tab and return to the movie page.
3.  When you click the “Start” button again, the movie should run smoothly from then on (even going full screen shouldn’t cause any glitches).

My anti-virus (Norton) warns me that it is blocking an attack, but as the attack is blocked, I’ve never had any further problems.
As a side note, I don’t think I have ever seen a movie adaptation of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” that did not stray into “Through The Looking – Glass (and what Alice Found There); I find that annoying, to say the least. “Through The Looking – Glass….” deserves its own, proper, treatment in my opinion.
🤞   this works.   🙂

Another great poster from StelBel!

I see that it’s been used for the DVD, as well.

I love this movie… I really ought to buy a copy.
I know I could stream it on BassetFlix…. but I want my very own copy.

I’ll put it on the shelf right next to its pale imitation……the human version.

I already have that one because it came to DVD sooner…. I think maybe it didn’t do as well in theatrical release.

….

I haven’t seen it in a few years and I’m ready again… there’s always some detail I’ve forgotten, or I missed the first time… or the 7th.

Richie Dry-fur was fairly unknown… now you can compare this with his later roles…

And what has happened to Milindy Dilbone? Things like that.

I always felt sorry for Teri Grrr, as Dry-fur’s mate… her character pretty much gets abandoned.

I hope she and the pups didn’t end up in the pound!

….

I still wonder what kind of bone these aliens wanted….

They seemed quite friendly, and you cheered as Dry-fur’s character, Royboy, went happily off into space with them, tail wagging…

so I hope it was a chew-bone…. or a Milkbone… and nothing canine or human!

Yes… From the first time I saw it, it really bothered me when he saw the other woman and I just knew it was going to be a movie romance.

Then his wife and kids fell out of the picture, and we’re supposed to care about this new relationship.

I guess he was supposed to be just enchanted by the aliens or something but I thought he was a jerk.

I was kind of glad he got on the ship without her.

…..

I remember that I actually told my friend it ticked me off that it was always the guy who could go off with the aliens…

Mommy has to take care of the kids, of course.
In this case TWO mommies.

A daddy can forget his kids under this alien hypnosis, and be totally unencumbered…. but we all know a mommy can’t.

Not that I’m in favor of either doing it… I hate that it’s ok for him, too.
