Too hot in the sun (even for reptiles), comfy cushions for Mama cat…

Look like tortoises to me rather than turtles. The family tortoises used to try and snuggle under the family cat when I was a lot younger than I am now, the cat never put up with that though.

A very tolerant Mama cat.

3 big kittens (unless there’s a 4th one under there) …

Older than some mother cats will still tolerate.

…..

What’s a couple more?

They do have hard fur, though, these new ones..

OK now, there is no dog to shrink down to blueberry size.

Maybe they’re genetically modified blueberries and are a foot across!

Maybe he’s a tardigrade cross.

A… a….. pitigrade? Tardibull? Boxertard?

Designer dogs are all the rage… along with breeding them smaller and smaller.

2 pound Yorkiepoos… can 2 gram pit bull and boxer crosses be far behind?

Wow yeah… I sure hope that happens some day.

Shouldn’t it be a little bigger?

I mean, yeah, I can record on my phone, the size of that hanging mic only thinner…

But think of the audio quality.

I got that a few times but then I think I found 2 more.

I make it 24, but I did have to go through it several times and got several different answers. I did think about sketching it out, but decided that would just be OTT.

Same here.

24, about 5 out of… let’s just say a few… recounts.

And I did go OTT, or maybe OCD, halfway drawing it out.

Hard to label though, because I didn’t draw each triangle completely separately.

After all, I still like to pretend to be sane.

Wait… I just got 25!

I think.

I ended up drawing them out and got 24, but before I drew it out I managed to get several different totals.

Ok this one I knew.

Not because I’m familiar with that particular childhood picture, but because it kind of resembles teenage pictures of him that I’ve seen.

Sixty years ago, I loved the Ronettes. And more recently I enjoyed Roni on Cousin Brucie’s show. Alas, neither Roni nor
Bruce Morrow’s Sirius XM show are with us now.

When I hear the Ronettes I’m back on the school bus, 8am on a freezing Wisconsin morning.

We loved our bus driver, partly cos she played the current music we all loved.

Cousin Brucie is on LIVE every Saturday night beginning at 6:00 p.m. at WABC.com radio. You can stream it LIVE on your laptop. He interviewed Pat Boone last night. Pat sounded the same as ever ….. not the voice of someone 89. Brucie is being feted this week, Sept. 7th, locally. I did not try to buy tickets – probably couldn’t afford them.

Very very occasionally…. quite rarely… I’m on Cleo’s side with the bazooka.

This is one of those rare occasions.

In California nobody does this.

Not only are the anti-littering laws strict, they are fiercely enforced. I think it’s $250 for a first offense on the freeway.

….

Littering is also taboo socially… other people in the car would have a fit if someone threw trash out the window.

People do tend to think it’s okay to throw out something biodegradable, like an apple core… But that’s been strictly prohibited, like any other trash.

The highway department points out that edible litter draws wildlife to the freeway, and causes accidents and animal deaths.

You can get a ticket for tossing a toothpick, if you’re seen.

….

Yes, there’s still some trash on the freeway…
But nothing like it used to be when there were drink cans everywhere.

Remeber when they used to paint warnings on the roadway to (try and) stop people throwing lighted cigarettes out the window?

I remember that. Here in the burning west, I think they are still needed.

Smokey the Bear!

He was on a lot of billboards about it.

There were also small roadside signs… and more in parks and campgrounds.

I know they used him in Canada as well.

I don’t remember fire warnings on the road itself.

Then again, it can be different in different states and provinces.

There wasn’t much painted on the roads where I lived in Wisconsin.

When I came to California as a teenager, a lot of streets had large X’s on them.

They said “Xing Ped” but the X was way bigger

Took me forever to realise it meant “Pedestrian Crossing.”

You reach the “Ped” first so it’s assumed you read it first. But no.

Oh!

I just looked to make sure I remembered right, that Smokey was used in Canada…

And I see they’ve replaced him (!!) with a yellow fox. 😿
