Is that Susan or Rita behind the chair?

Can’t be Rita. The only glasses I use are reading glasses. And of course wine glasses…..

And it’s certainly not Susan…

I do wear glasses… but not pointy frames from 1962.

My hair has never been that shade of…. whatever that is.

And it’s never been that short since my dad dragged me to a salon to get a pixie cut in 10th grade.

(He hated that I had started to let it grow long…”like a &#@! beatnik”.)

The pixie cut grew out… and grew some more… and never looked back.

It’s still pretty long…. I don’t know why WordPress and GoComics both have round avatar frames that give me a haircut!

Nor would I ever be caught wearing those clothes.

I may not be very fashionable… but even I can say that Clara and her friend could use a style upgrade.

Similar story. I was starting to grow my hair out in 9th grade. Neighbor had a salon in her basement. On my way there – maybe 500′ – my mom called her and told her to give me another pixie.

Didn’t go to another until I got married – and then only to have it put up, in all its waist length glory, on top of my head.

Mine was extremely thick, but has only ever reached my waist if I tugged on it to straighten out the waves.

Left to its own it hung mid-back.

In recent years, it has gotten somewhat thinner and shorter… and much wavier…

It won’t quite reach my waist unless I cheat and tilt my head way back when I tug…. LOL.

Mine is thinner too. Although, in part, because a BP drug has that as a side effect! Stopped taking it and more hair started to grow in. Enough that I’ve grown it past my shoulders again and it’s now mid-back length.

I’d always attributed the thinning to genetics – my mom and her sister both had thinning hair as they got older. But again, they both had high BP – I have no clue if they were on the same med as I was.

( Double whammy – my dad’s family went gray early – my first was at the ripe old age of 14!)

About 4 weeks after stopping the med, I noticed MANY 1/8″ hairs sprouting all over my head.

There were 5 other side effects that I won’t go into here. Suffice it to say that I’m much healthier without it, although my BP tends to still be a little high. PCP and I are OK with that.

My wife talks about her (hated) pixie cut. Her long, lustrous hair is what first caught my attention when I saw in college. It’s still pretty long, but she’s been inching it back a bit (our daughter trims it). It’s mid back length now.

With the pandemic, my wife has stopped going to the salon. I like her hair long, but she finds it a pain in the neck (so to speak).

I used to keep mine trimmed to my shoulder blades in a long “shag”, back when that was in style…

Now it’s longer, but still layered… the only things that get trimmed are those layers, and my bangs.

It’s doing the “inching back” all by itself.

Maybe it was a mystery guest!

I think you need to have a discussion with Nighthawks on this subject. He probably doesn’t care what they are wearing or what their hair looks like ~~ just what is easiest to draw……and I understand that.

I guess I don’t care either.. Unless he’s drawing me.

Though I have to say, it always makes me think Claude and Clara must be way older than me.

In fact, I hope they’re not supposed to be under 85, or even maybe 87, dressed like that.

Nighthawks?

But I’ll take the coffee, thanks!

Hearing what sounds like heavy weaponry, I’m wondering how much the cat likes it.

Then again… It’s not a very nice kitty.

I can’t condone this behavior from Cleo! ….. I don’t care how evil that cat is (evil cat? ~ that just doesn’t make sense). Sure glad that wasn’t that most precious liquid coffee she spit out.
