For anybody playing the Celebrity Game….

I don’t know him from the back, but I do know that…

she is…
silent star and early sex symbol Clara Bow.

I probably wouldn’t find her particularly attractive in a photo, but that eye roll is adorable.

The eye roll seems like an “OH, no.” moment to me. Maybe halitosis?

I think it was just fashionable and flirtatious in the early 1920’s.

Pretending to be aloof, while perfectly aware of her seductive charms…. “Well, if you really must kiss me… “

She was actually quite beautiful, and in spite of her straight line dresses, had a figure that would be enviable today.

Very haunting. The boat and man are illuminated from the left. That glow is not the sun. It seems the background has been reworked into an impenetrable haze. It feels peaceful and yet fraught with potential peril.

It looks like he is coming out of a fog bank.
Or, is the fog bank catching up to him? …

Also very appropriate.

Though

I think….
it would have been funny if the artist reversed the colors.

Um…. This looks amazingly like a picture you posted about 5 comments up.

Unless this is panel two of a very subtle Find The Differences puzzle….

She looks like a somewhat familiar face out of a Renaissance painting.

This one is kind of tricky, folks.

I have the solution…. I’ll post it in just a bit.

I believe I have them all.

SPOILER HINT
They are symmetrically distributed throughout the image.

here’s where you catch them!

I had five before Liverlips’ hint. The last one was right where I was certain one would be, but I couldn’t see it. I enlarged it after reading the hint and found #6.

That’s why I warned that his was a very big hint.

Essentially pointing them out…

But he did label it a spoiler, which it was.

The basset hounds make you laugh video is cute. It’s really just dogs acting like dogs, but THESE dogs are all bassets.

Oooh…. “Citizen Canine!”…. one of my all-time favorite films!

It’s often voted by critics the best movie ever made!

OMG…the images from it are stuck in my head forever.

Canine as a young pup. Canine as a tail-waggingly eager young newspaperman… bright-eyed and ….well, not exactly idealistic…

and as a portly publisher, and a scandal-plagued would-be politician.

And this is the film where, as a teenager, to the horror of my friends, I fell for Joey Mutten.

OK, maybet not Joey Mutten, himself….

But his character… Puppediah Leland… loyal friend, and keeper of Canine’s conscience.

“Susan,” they would say (cos that was my name back then, too)…

“He’s not attractive!

Don’t you remember? He was the evil uncle, in ‘Shadow of a Snout!’”

But … that scene, as he types his true opinion of Canine’s mate, alone in the newsroom… till…

OK, no spoilers… but it cemented him in my memory…

I love the name “Puppediah” to this day.

….

Orshound Welles himself was brilliant and dynamic… after a wild upbringing, he succeeded at everything, very very young.

He co-wrote, directed, and starred in Citizen Canine at only two and a half years old! (That’s 26 for a human, in the modern way of calculating dog years.)

As you can see on the poster, he could look very fierce.

The human seems a pallid imitation, on their copydog poster.
