Wow! I haven’t see these types of “illustrations” since my early teenage years when every kid in the school collected them! Great memories…

This photo does a remarkable job of showing the depth and scale of the place. It was glorious in its day.

This caption (from a different picture of the same tigress, Tigryulia) comes from a happier time. I hope all the animals there are still safe, but I think it’s a very faint one.

In this handout photo provided by Skazka Zoo, taken May 6, 2012, a female white albino tiger, Tigryulia is seen with her newborn cub at the Skazka Zoo in Yalta, Ukraine. The tiger gave birth to four cubs, including a rare albino tiger. A beautiful white tigress was the symbol of Yulia Tymoshenko’s presidential election campaign, representing her ferocious resolve.” (AP Photo/Skazka Zoo)

It fascinates me that a creature with jaws as large and powerful as a tiger can also be so gentle as to hold a newborn in its teeth.

Back to yesterday:
A short bit by the Indy Star about the tearing down of the flat iron building (I lost the argument with the U.R.L.).
I recommend going full screen to get the best enjoyment least frustration (the site goes to the next blurb with no way back without a complete restart). I agree with Dennis, it is a shame.

I’m just watching the bottom of the ninth online from Arizona; Cubs vs. Guardians. Both teams have a long way to go to opening day. Chicago 7 Cleveland 3 is the final.

It is amazing how the birds accept him and his craft, flying along with them. And he doesn’t even have to flap his wings!

I would assume that he doesn’t disturb the wind patterns they are accustomed to. As far as they know, he is just a fellow traveler who decided to join them for this portion of the trip.

I went to YouTube to see the info and comments.

This is no coincidental arrangement.

Apparently, many wild birds are disappearing in Europe.

He actually runs a wildlife rescue in France that raises orphaned geese… and it looks like some other birds, too.

He’s leading this young flock on a safe route… teaching them how to migrate.

They accept him because they know him well.

If you go there, for a few hundred Euros, you can be a passenger on this craft or a hot air balloon for a short flight with birds…. or stay in a cabin in the trees.

Wow!

I’m terrified of heights, but I’d do my best to set it aside to be in that seat.

Most modern bands are lucky to have one lead singer. The Beatles had three good singers, and two who could harmonize, while playing their instruments. Great song, great video.

I love that video…

I’ve never seen a band so relaxed while playing… I can’t believe they’re sitting down(!)

… suppressing giggles, hardly able to look at each other for fear of bursting out laughing.

Maybe a little then-illegal smoking had something to do with it…

or maybe they were just high on making music…. being friends, barely out of their teens, and having an amazing life.

….

They were very talented musicians, not only singers, but most of them were also some combination of guitar, bass and piano players, and drummers, and did it well….

along with writing so many songs that turned into massive hits.

But I have to ask… um… Dennis … three singers and two harmonizers?

Did at least one of the Fab Four fall into both categories, or are you counting somebody besides John, Paul, George and Ringo?

George was OK as a lead or as a background voice, but John and Paul had a special touch.

Yes… yet when you hear George later, solo or with the Traveling Wilburys, his voice is also pretty special…

I’m not a great judge of voices, but it sounds good to me…

Clear and strong,.and distinctive… maybe he got better, or maybe John and Paul’s voices were that overpowering.

Cleo’s gotta be trying to game the system one way or another…

What can she get out of driving a Street View car?

BTW, I thought they were self driving… it’s hard to get current info, but I think that was an experiment.

Google’s parent company bought a maker of self-driving cars, and still own it, but the tech isn’t yet reliable enough to deploy.

The drivers aren’t paid as well as basset movie stars… so what can Cleo do with this that’s more remunerative?

Charge for placing businesses prominently in Street View?

Be paid for poking into back yards and unauthorised places?

Blackmail people caught on camera committing crimes or dallying with an inappropriate partner?

It’s a new field, and it’s still wide open.

Is anyone else getting this annoying white square popping up randomly in GoComics? It does eventually go away, but sometimes it shows up, as here, in a really annoying spot.

I always thought Speedy Gonzales was a mouse aka a rodent – those teeth are all wrong.
To your question: no/not yet; but glitches? On GoComics?!? – Who would have thought, or: Are you new there?

This particular glitch only began appearing for me last week.
I’m old enough on GoComics to predate the rise of “Ask a Portly Syndicate Person (I survived its fall, but only for a while).”
I also took part in both versions of GoComics “ask-the-readership” questionnaires. I got the impression they were expecting to “feel the love” a la “Frog Applause ” (not from me)
I gave them a few thoughts and while I did not, I can imagine others using some George Carlin’s magnificent seven.
Why am I not surprised that there have been no changes? Because it’s GoComics.

Has anyone else had the YouTube clips stop randomly. Not buffering, but like the end of the clip, with several other recommended clips shown. I can click the play arrow and it resumes.

Thankfully, I have not experienced that either, though I have had videos interrupted by commercials.

I have not seen that, and I am on their site every day. Perhaps the difference is that I have a paid subscription.

I always wanted to see that fly. In 1992 I saw it on the ground (in the distance) at the Davis-Monthan “Bone Yard”.

we used to live near the Van Nuys airport, and would see the Guppies flying lots of times. those were the days.
