I can see it two ways… One, as a total optical illusion…

But sometimes my brain can’t accept that, and makes me see it as workmen making a sort of taco-shaped structure.

The floor curves up in back, and they’re in the process of folding the top corner down, to overhang the front one.

Poor kid.

Luckily he (?) doesn’t look too distressed.

An interesting looking gadget. Not too far out of the prototype or low volume stage if my experience still serves. Good for cranial and upper to mid thoracic x-rays, although the attachment of the strap retaining the head may be a problem.

A (fairly rare) blue-eyed border collie.
It doesn’t affect their vision, as some worry.

Great pup… under their happy-go-lucky exteriors, border collies are intense, hard-working dogs.

It’s an archerfish, from Australia.

It shoots its insect prey with water to knock it off a leaf and into the water… which is harder than you’d think, because it must adjust its aim due to the parabolic arc of its water stream, and to the light bending when it enters the water, so the target isn’t quite where it seems.

Some scientists use it as an example of tool use; others argue that the water stream isn’t from outside its own body, so it isn’t a tool.

What it does show is that fish exhibit learned behavior. Every archerfish is unlikely to have come up with this technique on its own

Boys playing cricket in a London street, taken April 25th, 1930… Couldn’t find the photographer.
The wicket is drawn on the lamppost.

I dunno whether I could feel so confident, as to stand so near the batter in an enclosed space, with a baby in my arms.

Weren’t they mostly related to each other?

Drink enough of it for long enough, and eventually your house might look like this too.

What I see.
Voxx is correct. However, on my monitor I notice that the fourth one in the top row and the eighth one in the second row are not exactly alike, either. Those are also unique as far as I can tell.

I was about to say that too…

in fact….
They’re not identical at all. I mean, yes, they’re the same colors, and have some similarity, but the top one has squarish polka dots, and the one below has large squares that almost make it a plaid.

I would venture to guess that the differences are caused by the JPEG compression algorithm, which is notorious for messing things up.

A few days ago one of the music videos was Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass – I commented on the horn he was shown with. So yesterday on Youtube I found out that he’s touring again! He’s 90 years old. Ninety! Unfortunately there’s nothing near me.

I’d like to have a few of those wi-fis myself, to carry in my bag.

They’d be useful when I run into dead spots… though I have to say T-Mobile has gotten much better.

There’s still not much reception for any network in some places though… like inside Costco.

I mean, how can a person shop without being on a phone the entire time, consulting over every purchase, like the customers I see at Safeway (supermarket)? I’m surprised their batteries make it through the checkstand.

Amazon returns used to be processed at the local UPS Store. So Amazon would send QR code via email (or their app) on my phone. I’d go into the UPS Store, and have absolutely no reception. Dumb. No reception, no QR code. I ended up having to print the code and carry it in. Might as well have just sent me a return label.
