Of course, with appropriate Buddabuddabuddabudda vibrations and noises as they fly through the air. Accompanying slime/drool shall be added as appropriate.
I did my first year of college at the University of South Dakota.
Didn’t see much of the highways, though, cos USD is in Vermillion, a (then) small town tucked into a little point in the southeast corner of the state.
Except for for one weekend, IIRC, I only traveled eastward, back to Wisconsin to visit my family, not west into the interior.
For the “1910s thru 1960s”, its pretty light on those 10s and 20s… as in there are none… and I only see one photo that’s probably from the 60s, though they made at least one movie together in the late 50s.
Well, of course, isn’t that all they’re here for? Maybe plus a few other occasional benefits, but those are just add-ons. The best ones don’t think or (God forbid) express opinions! Are you applying for the job? Yes, that’s sarcasm, big time! 😉
btw, my sincere thanks given to Susan Sunshine for providing the smaller images for this post. I was getting tired of those oversized images and videos but I’m restricted to
Wordpress , who at least tolerate me.
A few years ago I bought bumper stickers for my cars. I put one on the old Chevy, and it didn’t take long for our Agate Desert sun to ruin it. So I put the other under the glass on my desk:
Happy3 would adopt them in an instant if he could. Maybe he was a rabbit in his last life, maybe, if he’s lucky, he’ll be promoted to rabbit in his next life.

I AM smiling!
Rich ladies just love showing off how much fur it took to make their dogs. A bit gauche, I think.
Do we now compare our dogs by the size of their flews? Nighthawks had better start working on Batbasset’s incredible slobbery wings.

Obligatory:
“You can’t park there mate!”
“Yo! Little help here?”
…
Gotta love the snazzy two-tone paint job and the equally snazzy zoot suit.
Can’t make out the emblem on the car.
Or why another guy is sitting in a ditch(?).
Hey! Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing!
,,
Container is being held too high, hence the splashing.
We need to hear from our splashing expert Tigressy. 🙂
Not without any coffee yet.
,
If you ever move to Australia, don’t even think of bringing your pet rabbit.
A few cousins.
“I tell you, these family reunions get more crowded every year.”
..
A face committed to grazing!
Are you trying to convince me that long pointy thing is a plow?
I’m reasonably sure that it worked that way for the wooly rhinoceros, clearing a reasonable area for grazing.
The Siberian Unicorn.
That was a snowplow!
It ain’t for browsing the high branches!
That is one horny dude.
,..
You can fuss all you want, but we’re still all part of the country, and deserve to be paid attention to.

I lived there a few years with my grandparents and it didn’t look at all like that.
Of course, I was at the other side of the state.
Black Hills?
Yeah. Hot Springs to be exact.
1889, second November. Both Dakotas. 39th and 40th.
Totally different.
…
Did any of them actually fall in love with each other, like seems to happen with some current Hollywood stars?
Humphrey and Lauren were married.
But they actually did fall in love on a movie set.
And Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy were pretty openly an illicit couple for years…. though I don’t know how they met .

Myna Loy? I bet her publicist will squawk about that.
.,,
A preist hole!
A dumb waiter!
Let’s hope the dumbwaiter (he or she) at least received a hefty tip for the subterfuge!
What? She was going in there to consult her priest?
So nice… a built-in cooking appliance.
It can make stews and pasta sauce, and fry eggs… plus it’s a combination rice and noodle cooker, coffee maker, and on demand sandwich maker.
I’ve known a few men who thought they had one, especially back in the 50s and 60s.
Well, of course, isn’t that all they’re here for? Maybe plus a few other occasional benefits, but those are just add-ons. The best ones don’t think or (God forbid) express opinions! Are you applying for the job? Yes, that’s sarcasm, big time! 😉
Or, as much as daughter said to her betrothed (before marriage)…
“That’s a PERK…!”
(LOL)
A legendary location for Hide & Seek.
.,.
We have seen this tale previously. Except I think the restaurant was supposed to have been in the deep south.
.,
Okay, the fox is a little out of the ordinary…
Well foxes are cat software running on dog hardware, so it should fit right in 😉
,,..
Not much of a joke any more.
Flippety Splat!
,
A brown version of Buddy.
I see a dog straddling a snow pile.
DOGGY!
This has got to be a joke… Or maybe we’re all just dog-brained.
I don’t think the rock would curve upwards into the ‘tail’, so I suspect shenanigans.
Oh, I’m convinced of them.
I know i am.
I see a dog, perchance even a basset, lying along the ridge line of a sofa.
Legsd are a bit long – I’m leaning towards beagle.
Looks kinda shaggy to me… cocker spaniel-ish.
That’s true – cockers have the ears for sure. Cute little buggers.

Thanks, Nighthawks… but as I said…. No biggie, as long as Postimage keeps tolerating me.
I can’t really claim to provide the images… you do .. I merely upload them and get links.
In the unlikely event anyone wondered, that’s why I recused myself the other day, and will again… I’d seen the pics.
Not that you tell me the names, but seeing them together is enough.
Finally got one!
And this is one I’m not so sure I would have recognized… assuming you mean the kid. He’s 15 here.
I got him from the younger picture, the ears had a lot to do with it.
I had no idea.
..,,,
Russia needed experienced vets for the front lines
Devastatingly true.
Woo-Hoo! Another great story to follow!
A few years ago I bought bumper stickers for my cars. I put one on the old Chevy, and it didn’t take long for our Agate Desert sun to ruin it. So I put the other under the glass on my desk:
The great days when Disney just wanted to entertain kids.
This is my road; get off and stay off.
Yikes!
I wonder what his insurance company said, if he even had one.
It’s not exactly a collision… more like an unnatural disaster.
Not an accident, more like an “on purpose…”
Well, he missed one quarterpanel.
No wonder the bull hates it. It’s a Peugeot.
Abandoned Russian Research Station on Koluchin Island.
Apparently, not even good to keep for a gulag.
It isn’t abandoned. Those bears have moved right in.
Look out! Here comes Goldilocks…
Two Lops.
Happy3 would adopt them in an instant if he could. Maybe he was a rabbit in his last life, maybe, if he’s lucky, he’ll be promoted to rabbit in his next life.
I wanna be a pet in my next life.
As opposed to tulips.
From Hamster-Dam.
Yay! BatBasset is back!
The Dynamic Duo may be springing into action any moment!
This is exciting… I think I’ll make a cup of hot chocolate and settle in.
BTW I love the little bits of animation… the phone, and Sparrow’s eager tail.
Hey, I still have my promotional mug!
OK, where did you get that promotional mug, and how can I get one?
I’d guess it’s not available anymore 🙁
And if you’re in North America, don’t forget to FALL BACK tonight.
If you’re in the UK or Europe, I guess you already did.
I got my usual 7.5 hours of sleep last night—-and now it’s not even 5AM yet.
arrrrgghh!
Be happy, it’s 1:55AM here on my screen (or is that 12:55AM in real life. Or maybe it’s changed and it could have been 2:55AM)…I’m so confused….
All I know is I’m up and the dogs want breakfast…so I’d better go.
I totally forgot about that.
I woke up early and got up at 3:00.
Now i find that it’s only approaching three.
Early morning nap is a very good bet.
Some of you guys were up before I turned off my light at 3am Pacific… which was suddenly 2am…. but that’s still 5am EST.
