Actually, this is the 1966 Grand Prix Monza, which is held in Monza, Italy, just north of Milan.
It wasn’t captioned with the identity of the driver… but the photographer was Otto Ludwig Bettmann, who started the Bettman Archive, one of the largest repositories of photos in the world .. now numbering over 18 million images, and under the control of Getty Images.
Sorry, I’m trying to understand what you’re saying here… I didn’t post the video, so maybe it wasn’t intended for me?
The shot Nighthawks posted is one I sent him, and definitely not a still from a movie. It’s a well known news photo from one of the most respected news photographers of his day. I found it on a site for historical pictures.
It looks like the creators used it as the thumbnail, or maybe the title background for their film, or video.
I only watched a minute or two of it, because it’s almost 3 hours long… But it seems to also feature real footage.
is the mistake you’re pointing out merely the numbering of the race? I have no idea about that, or why it matters in identifying the photo… Could you explain, please? You didn’t mention a second “goof.”
If a barely two story tall duck, shorter than an old yellow school bus, is really among the 12 largest, it seems like they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel just to find a dozen.
I remember commenting on a picture of their fictional promotional character… I guess not really a spokeswoman, because she was meant to be a passenger… back when it was a steam train.
She traveled in white linen, to show that they ran on clean-burning anthracite coal, so passengers didn’t get dirty.
Her name was Phoebe Snow, and eventually, the train was named after her.
Years later, the singer, Phoebe Snow, named herself after the train.
Don’t let your favorite deli see this. The way prices are going, it’ll be their 2027 ham sandwich.
Customers are already balking at paying $15.99… they’ll jump on a way to make more sandwiches out of the same ingredients, so they can still charge the same..
Spoiler box? But not for Dancing Buffalo or Happy3? There ain’t no sandwich in that picture, as far as I can see, so I made up a location just as they did.
The one-time Hollywood dream couple… I was a kid when they got divorced, but I kind of remember the whole country collectively gasping, already rocked by Eddie Fisher divorcing Debbie Reynolds.
Her Royal Highness Princess Elizabeth of York, with Dookie and Jane, the first two Pembroke Corgis to join the House of Windsor .
Taken July 7th 1936, about about 5½ months before her father knew he’d be King, and she’d one day be Queen.
Her first corgi of her very own was given to her on her 18th birthday, and became the first of a long line of royal doggie descendents. Her name was Susan!

The kennel said he’ll grow into that skin. Yeah, right!
,.
Yea! We are kind of spooky.

Looks like it could be James Garner.
It is in Grand Prix and the track is Nuremberg
This pic is the same one, just closer

Goofs (according o IMDb) from the movie “Grand Prix” (where the stills above are from):
“A banner in the town square heralds the 37th Annual Gran Premio d’Italia. 1966 marked the 57th edition of Monza.”

Nope! Nope! Nope!
I keep seeing glimpses of cats in my house, that aren’t there.
Maybe they’re ghosts that are lonely for other cats and sympathetic humans. Treat them nicely and they’ll watch out for you. Treat them badly and….

If it makes you feel any better, you never have been older in your life.
The current hat that I wear when out and about, has on it the caption:
“I don’t know how to act my age, I’ve never been this old before”

“Descendants” …Larry Madrigal, 2022 .. oil on linen.
Madrigal also painted “Freeway”, which Nighthawks posted on Friday, but I didn’t have time to Google it then.

Looks like the USA’s largest roadside oddities would be a better title.
If a barely two story tall duck, shorter than an old yellow school bus, is really among the 12 largest, it seems like they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel just to find a dozen.
Come on America… can’t we do better?
How about a 400 foot tall rocket?
Is there one that’s a “roadside oddity”?
It’s big enough to be in the dozen.
Anyway, I was being facetious, as usual, but… sigh… this is such a serious audience.

I just realized there’s no cheese. Maybe he couldn’t slice any to match.
Not my brain is working on what kind of cheese will let you slice it paper thin, without crumbling.

Two photos up…
In the dog.
On the other side of the milk carton. Have you seen this sandwich?
Yep… That’s where I see it, too…. though I have to say, for future reference…. a spoiler box would have been nice, pretty please?
Must be from the same puzzlemaker as the one a few days ago, with the horrid mess in a hot dog cart, and strange objects flying everywhere.
This one is a bit tamer, but still full of gratuitous disasters, and both show only a tiny peek at the object in question.
Spoiler box? But not for Dancing Buffalo or Happy3? There ain’t no sandwich in that picture, as far as I can see, so I made up a location just as they did.
Err, there is….
Exactly!
That’s so funny…. Sorry Arfside!
You somehow “made up” the correct location, so I thought you knew, and you were giving it away!
Since it’s already been told….
The sandwich is lying on the table behind the milk carton… a narrow sliver is visible between the carton and the cereal box.
That’s one reason I said it was like that other puzzle, where an even more invisible bit of a Coke bottle is the “solution.”
I sure didn’t see it.
Here’s a little something to get your feet jumping while you’re enjoying today’s pages.
The one-time Hollywood dream couple… I was a kid when they got divorced, but I kind of remember the whole country collectively gasping, already rocked by Eddie Fisher divorcing Debbie Reynolds.
Bunny, for Bunday.
Chestnut-crowned Laughing Thrush, native to the Himalayas and southern China.
Hey… What’s so funny?
