I never saw this machine… but does anybody else remember coffee machines where the choices were coffee, (with buttons to add creamer and/or sugar), hot chocolate, or chicken soup??
All were made from powders dispensed inside the machine, into a paper cup that dropped down, and got filled with hot water.
Hey, you couldn’t expect much for a dime.
I remember drinking that chicken soup on late nights studying in the dorm, where we had a machine, and wishing it would let you put creamer in the soup.
Our vending machines at work had the choices (Amongst others) of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and chicken soup. The (Knorr brand) chicken soup wasn’t bad for a vending machine offering, and welcome on a cold day.
These are migrating stingrays, seen from the bow of a boat off the northern tip of the Yucatan peninsula in 2017.
Called Golden or Cow nose rays, they look small in this picture but are about 5 to 7 feet wide, and the migrating swarms contain 4,000 to 10,000 individuals.
In my search, I saw similar pictures from a few photographers, and one said that in the sunrise, the water looked golden for miles.
Also, though their strings are venomous and incredibly painful, they usually run away instead of stinging, and unless you step on one, will rarely hurt you.
That looks like a UK bus to me, the panel is where the stairs to the top deck are. The wheel in the picture is the offside front, and the driver position is just out of shot to the right.
Remind me not to go to their house, if it comes up, ok?
Actually, I didn’t mind Alien or Jaws, but I can’t say I’m eager to rewatch them. I suppose I wouldn’t really mind seeing Psycho again….. but that’s okay… especially with the risk of seeing one of the others, I’ll still pass.
I tried it for keeping something… I can’t remember if it was brown sugar, but probably…. years ago, and got hard moldy bread.
I know I tried a piece of cut apple in the brown sugar and it got really yucky really fast, so no way I’d put them in with my cookies. Who wants soft cookies anyway.
Those tries were when brown sugar came in a box. Since it started coming in a plastic bag, I have no problem. Actually I usually mix a little molasses into white sugar and keep it in a jar. Homemade brown sugar.
I more recently tried putting an apple in with the potatoes, in a cool dry cupboard, said to keep them from sprouting. I read it on a reliable website.
But the apples in a bowl on the table stayed fine: the one with the potatoes got soft and brown in a few days.
The potatoes themselves just shrugged their shoulders and ignored it. They apparently didn’t feel like sprouting anyway.
When you click it, you get a red thumb up. Nothing else used to happen, but now a tiny green banner pops up at the bottom of the page, that says “Thanks. You liked this.”
If you click it again, the thumb turns back to gray, and a teeny blue banner says “Sorry. You unliked this.” You can keep going back and forth.
(Gee, I didn’t know whether I was liking or unliking it.)
It seems unrelated to the thumbs format you actually subscribe to… So who is collecting that data? I don’t like that.
.
They show the wrong kind of birds in that video…
The first bird was a UK male Blackbird, the later pair were Magpies, but not UK ones.
Yup – the first one is the same here in Germany.

Eek!

I personally do not plan to test that theory.
….
Dishwashing gloves as fashion statement.
The thought comes to mind, “Why in all that’s holy would she wear something like that?”
I think because she’s a model, and they’re paid to wear what the designer or photographer directs.
Then they go home and put on jeans.
I like the outfit.
This is from art and fashion photographer Nhu Xuan Hua, from her 2016 series called “Velvet”.
“Get a grip!”, they told her.
And that’s what she did.

oops…
That looks like a UK bus to me, the panel is where the stairs to the top deck are. The wheel in the picture is the offside front, and the driver position is just out of shot to the right.
This is the way my brain works……
I think I have the same sort of brain…. Not focused on the same subjects, but definitely overanalyzing things that have no need of my analysis.
I’m not saying that’s what you do… Your analyses are probably more practical…
But neither of us (apparently) just thinks, “oh, nice picture.”
We need to find something to …I dunno….. describe or look up or count… or something .

“This may take a while…”
It’s kind of like people with multiple different locks on their doors.
Yeah, but they’re locking their doors to protect their lives and their valuables.
What is this guy locking up in his shirt?
Benjamin?
,,
Nope.
The Thing and Alien 2 great movies.. The others …meh !

I don’t think optics work that way…
Especially not the curve.
Hmm…
But if you shore the soil just the right way at the base of the wall…
Yeah. Possible.
YMMV
Yes, I agree… if the dirt mound curves, the shadow curves with it.
But what about the curve that’s just above the dirt, against the wall? I want to believe it, because it looks like a real, unaltered photo.

Well that was dumb…
That tree slapped him upside the head.
It was saying, “Hey, idiot, the whole hillside could have avalanched, with you on it.”
Aaaaand that’s why professionals risk assess such activities before starting…….
Just securing the path…

Well…. #7 works, unless there’s just too much water in the pot to be stopped.
Please don’t try the rest … Most affect the taste, and not in a good way.
Who’s writing all these charts? Mr. AI, after reading and absorbing a few hundred 1930s newspaper cooking columns?
I use #8 all the time.
Does it work for you?
I tried it for keeping something… I can’t remember if it was brown sugar, but probably…. years ago, and got hard moldy bread.

I just hate it when my potatoes shrug their sore shoulders
I’ve tried a couple of them successfully.
Number 1 works, that’s the way Iranians make rice
Yeah… I was forgetting to mention #1.
I know it works… I’m just not in a position to keep washing extra tiwels
I’ve done 5 and six.

Maggie says there’s nothing unusual about Cleo’s glasses:

Should I be looking for a barbecue?
If you enjoy barbecued squirrels, I suppose. 🙂
In the world of Dudas…
Well, probably their tails, too, when you can see them.
I want a teeny little mouse size squirrel! But not a squirrel size mouse, please.
got it!
,,.
!!!!!!!!
OMG… they’ve been trying to fix it with packaging tape.
Time to flee!
Yeah, everyone knows that’s a job for duct tape!
Vandals with box-cutters !
I you guys haven’t done so yet, just ignore the annoying, obnoxious ,giant redundant thumb up below every comment.

Did Claude just finally realize that Cleo is not like other dogs?
Stay tuned… Same Cleo time, same Cleo channel.
Maybe in the next episode, he’ll figure out that most dogs can’t drive, or steal kibble trucks.
But I wouldn’t bank on it.

Works great until you hit a rock or log!
Why, so it is!

Perfect timing!
It’s soup weather here!
