Sorry! I meant to post the puzzle, but got sidetracked by the evil white cat looking through MY  window!…the puzzle will                      be run  tomorrow
They’re actually at the same watering hole, in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley.
This is another photo from Greg du Toit, from the same 2010 shoot, when he spent 270 hours… that’s a few hours over 11 days…. mostly submerged, getting great photos and a somewhat less welcome case of severe malaria.
I’ve got a few quarts of this 600W “oil” sitting around for my Model A (avatared). For those who wonder what the consistency of it is, it does not flow at room temperature. If you’ve ever had molasses on your hands, then you are getting close to it. A strong hand cleanser with pumice is about the only way you will get it off your hands, and you never, ever, want it in your clothing, it will not wash out, only a distillate will handle it.
Very similar to ‘Cable Oil’ which used to be used in EHV* cable joints. You had to heat it to pour it. A slightly thinner version, which would flow (Just) at room temperature, was used for insulation in HV/EHV switchgear chambers. ‘Normal’ insulating oil (Like you find in transformers and switchgear) is a lot thinner. Slightly thicker than diesel.
This is the 2nd time for this, and I thought, oh good, cos I didn’t have time to look it up before.
But aha! Google has NOTHING on it… It says there are no matches.
I think it must be top secret…. The blue lights on the tiny alien ships hiding behind the fence are obviously communicating with the lone ship that has landed on the roof.
The AI, or whatever illustrates these silly charts, likes to draw shredded or sliced ingredients as tiny pebbles.
Tacos el pastor, tortas, tostadas, quesadillas, … I’ve never seen them looking like that. Especially not those bumpy aguas frescas.
Even beans are usually mashed into refried beans, not that everything here usually has beans in it.
I’m pretty sure I got more than half. (For number 19 I cheated and looked it up, so that one doesn’t count. Numbers 15 and 17 suggest a character name and a title, but I can’t quite make them work.) These are the others I still can’t figure out: 9, 14, 16, 18 and 20.
I didn’t have time to post it last night… I was working on it half asleep….
1. Green eggs and ham.
2. Grinch
3. Fox in Sox
4. Cat in the Hat

6. Hop on Pop

8. Horton
9.
10. Cindy Lou Who
11. Thing One and Thing Two (not a great illustration)
12. One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish (one of my favorite books)
13. Max

15. Green

Thanks… I did have a couple more but couldn’t get my browser to stay open.
(Anybody out there who knows a solution?: It freezes, and tells me my browser has stopped responding, and I have to click “wait” or “close app”. After clicking wait a few times, the interruptions get more and more immediate, till I have 2 seconds or so till the next freeze.)
So I had 19 … though like you, I looked it up.
I think 16 has to do with an old book he wrote about feet, in various sizes. I couldn’t search, just like I couldn’t post, and it’s getting a bit late to do it now, so I’m not sure.
But I’m pretty certain about #15….. I recognized the format for a color hex code….. no, I didn’t have any memorized, but they go #RGB, each #then two digits in Hex, which has 16 digits, 0-9 then A-F, so F is the highest digit.
#00ff00 would be no red or blue, and the highest possible green.
BTW I couldn’t believe I remembered that either, but I’m pretty sure it worked.
Not bothering with spoiler cos I already wrecked it… Sorry. Just couldn’t do spoiler in 2 seconds.
I think Nighthawks must have forgotten… And to be honest, I was out, having remembered earlier to save the solution in a way I could post it from my phone….
But I got caught up in my errands, and didn’t think of it again myself till late this evening.
If he remembers, and decides to post it tomorrow morning, I’ll be back with the solution in the afternoon.
I can only contact NH by email, so past his bedtime means he’ll see it tomorrow.
It’s harder than you’d think to keep track of all this… I mean posters and puzzles on the right days, and remembering what’s been run recently, or how long it’s been, whether it’s a poster, a puzzle, or a daily strip.
Having jumped the hoops to copy the link, port it over to my Firefox browser (I view this site using Edge), switch on the VPN so it doesn’t appear I’m in the UK, I can then view the picture on imgur*.
I agree, yes, more recognisable.

.
* Imgur blocked the UK due to the age restriction steps they would have had to implement due to legislation the stoopid UK gubm’nt introduced to “Protect the kiddies.” Just drove everything underground, or forced people to use VPNs where the ‘Authorities’ then can’t see what the individual IP addresses are accessing…..
it may change its mind after a while…..or it might not….
I’m having the same problem with my animations (as you may have noticed) being run up top….I swear, from time to time WordPress, it seems, will just throw a monkey wrench into the works just to see what happens
.
Nap time! Works for me!

That car’s body is in better shape than much younger cars around today.
Steel, not fiberglass or plastic, for one thing

They’re here to tease the lions from yesterday.

If you put tallow in that oiler when you should be using steam oil, you’re going to have a bad time.
I had to go looking.

I read about half the page before my brain kicked in with “Why are you reading this?”
After all ,Life is short

..,
I thought it was ants… but no…. the barely visible title tells the story.
It’s the wear on the counter caused by 30 years of back and forth money and candy and such.
Ah, but barely visible, is good enough

“It was planning something malicious. You’re welcome.”
It’s a ginger!
Love the way the cat looks at the camera and seems to say “what are you gonna DO about it?”
Our late cat Silver (a Chartreuse) took whole rolls and fought them to shreds.
And that’s why you hang paper towels and toilet paper UNDER if you have a cat.

Sshhh…. you didn’t hear it from me.
PS… Swallow this note.
That is Wilson’s fence years after his mysterious demise.
Gulp!

1898 …. Just in case you think your great grandparents never had any fun.
,.
All of them.
Same here. Year after year.
Me, too.
No.8 would have been treasonous…… 😉
Yup… All.
I was a very good girl, because I came from a strict military family, and any trouble at school meant big trouble at home…
But there’s no way I could claim that I’ve never gotten sent to the principals office or passed notes in class.
To be honest, I don’t know what it takes to qualify for #8.
I mean, I did mostly use a pencil sharpener, not my hand. My hand isn’t sharp enough. But I’ve sharpened a fair number with a knife, as well.
I’m trying to figure out, though, whether they mean there’s any way to sharpen pencils that they don’t call “by hand”.
I think they mean an electric sharpener instead of the kind with the crank.

No FTND today?
Well, I found one, the cat keeps disappearing…..

Little glitches are bound to show up!
thanks, Miss Sunshine–glitches are what make up most of my life these days
sorry! tomorrow for sure
I just hope that everything else is OK.
How’s your doggy?
doggie is good, thanks for asking!
I can see the comic on my laptop!
but is it animating?
Eew!
Yes!
Didn’t recognize the middle guy cos the other two make him look tiny.

WordPress has now decided that it doesn’t like .jpg formatted images. I had to convert this picture to .png format.
