It was in an online article called “The Worst Remodeling Fails of 2024″…. along with that diagonally placed sink Nighthawks posted the other day. I found it when I was googling the image of that kitchen.
I don’t see a tank or a handle, so I’m hoping that’s a bidet, not a toilet. I don’t even want to imagine trying to clean it, if it’s the latter.
However, I see a roll of bathroom paper… so my hopes may be fading a bit.
That might be a flush button (black) on the top of the left-side escutcheon? Water source hidden away much like some of the public toilets? Regardless, not a fun job trying to keep things clean and sanitized :: bidet or toilet…
Seat? I don’t see a seat as such; no, I think there is no lifting of this particular seat. Hence, my though on it perhaps being a flush button.
And, you had a good choice of words to describe what else MAY be deposited within the bowl… But, there are add-on devices, such as a Tushyâ„¢ bidet attachment which will retro-fit a regular toilet into a sudo-bidet.
In my part of the UK, it wasn’t uncommon for a patient to have ‘NFN’ in the doctor’s (GP) notes. This means ‘Normal for Norfolk’. The practice has been discouraged in later years.
We have black birds of several kinds… huge flat black crows, smaller starlings, one very pointy kind whose feathers have a definitely blue and sometimes greenish sheen.
They’re rarely close, except for the odd raucous starling, and I admit that from a tree or a rooftop, I don’t know which is which.
I used to have a set of trivets that came from the utility company
I don’t remember exactly hiow I got them, but they were some sort of promotion for all electric kitchens or maybe houses..
They looked like square ceramic kitchen or bathroom wall tiles, but were actually enameled metal, hollow in back, glued to a square of real cork. New in a box, but maybe an old box.
Each was a different old fashioned kitchen color… beige, pale yellow, light mint green.. and each printed with a cartoon of Reddy Kilowatt, I remember one cooking, one opening the fridge….
I had them for years, so I can’t forget my pal Reddy, even though I never switched to electric cooking, heating or water heating.
Those trivets could be worth a lot of money now as many promotional things are and just trivets themselves are collectable . When I was selling antiques I had quite a nice collection.

Spring Healed Jack is after them!

Image search only found “fashion photography”, and ads for similar hats.

Maybe…. I’m no plumber.
Aren’t those escutcheons actually just ceramic caps that cover the bolts on the seat, not water connections?
And yeah, horrible cleaning job. But at least you don’t (I hope!) put… umm… the same waste products into a bidet.

Not fun to sit on either!
Maybe it’s an art museum exhibit.

I think I’m going to take this with the proverbial grain of salt.
Well, the author seems to have an issue with hospitals
Really?

Of course she did. There’s a dog involved.
Thanks Nighthawks! Nice of you to stay up long enough to post all this.
I hope the doggie is okay!
Looks like it is for now. Thanks for asking.

Brewer’s Blackbird.
Are we sure it’s not Blacker’s Bluebird?
The ones around here are a very nonreflective flat black.

Does anybody remember this character?
Not me.
Nor do I remember him.
Reddy Kilowatt. He’s a spokesperson for electric utility companies. Originally created in 1925.
I do!
