It’s sad how bikers have been given a bad rep because of these 50’s movies. All the bikers we have run across have been super nice, friendly, generous and a pleasure to be around.
Hasn’t anyone ever seen bikes and cars on the wrong side of the road (in the movies) when the long, straight stretch of road is pretty much abandoned for miles to come?
Blue Cheer was a great follow-up to Cream, in my world. I was in high school and my parents had finished part of the basement for us younger folk to make as much noise as we wanted (i.e., a rec room). Unfortunately this was the apogee of heavy metal. All downhill from there. The singing got worse, the music more simplistic and just noisy. I wish it had gone a different way.

Vincent was a favorite with English Rockers MC Clubs
The bike that I posted above is supposedly the one that Brando rode in the movie, according to the internet (if the internet can be trusted….).

It was an old movie by the time I was in my teens…
But I think she was still afraid I’d be influenced by his famed sexuality, along with his bad attitude.

he seemed old, and his 1950’s slang was foreign. and dated.
As the poster touts, he’d already starred in Streetcar Named Desire…. but now he was supposed to be younger.

I was allowed to see James Dean Dog’s films….
and “Basset Without A Cause” influenced me a lot more than the Wild One did.
It was a few years later, and Dean Dog was younger…
even though he was really 25, playing a teenager.
He still looked the part,…. and very handsome, with that perfect, insolent slouch.

Houndo never struck that nerve with me….
He was almost 30, and looked it.
And he didn’t display Dean Dog’s fetching undercurrent of vulnerability, though both were playing alienated youth.
But I know his influence, and that of this movie, was very strong on Howlywood and society….
and I’m sure it paved the way for James Dean Dog, and other misunderstood pups..
He went on to have an illustrious career…
Even starring in The Dogfather when his basset jowls got old and droopy.

Not necessarily, NH. I’ve posted the text before the link many times, and it’s posted perfectly, so that’s not it.
The problem that I ran into early on was if I post the YouTube link from my MSN Edge browser, it wouldn’t post the video, only the the link.
If I post the EXACT SAME link from Google Chrome, it works 100% of the time. The only reason I have Google Chrome now is to post videos here.
Some things are just a mystery…..
On my computer, which is not available now, I’ve used Firefox for years…
I’m sure I’ll be using it on the new computer too.
But I don’t care for mobile Firefox for android.

On my tablet, I use the Samsung browser, which comes preloaded on Samsung android devices…
I’m told it’s based on Chrome, but it’s different from Chrome, which I also don’t like.
My phone is LG, and came with Chrome installed, but I installed the Samsung browser on it, and it’s fine.

I don’t post a lot of videos, and I didn’t go very far back to check…
But i posted a Fleetwood Mac one a couple of days ago… using this tablet, and my usual Samsung browser, just like today.
There’s a short line of text on top…
And it looks fine, with the video visible inside the comment box.

My only explanation is that the WordPress spirits like to mess with me…
Just like when I refresh the page, and it loads more comments, but not ALL of them…
