Interestingly, well to me, anyway, though you do know I’m easily entertained… the size of this image was 1500 x 1111 pixels, which makes for a pretty detailed picture.
Of course, you aren’t seeing it that size, because it’s limited to whatever width is allowed here in the comment field.
When I was searching for info, I discovered that it’s also available on Wilimedia Commons, in various sizes. They say the photograph was shot on a large glass plate negative, and offer the original size, but it’s over 10,000 pixels wide… and they warn that it might freeze your browser!
I’m sure you can see wonderful detail if you do get it open… I’m not going to risk giving my poor, overworked 8″ tablet a heart attack.
I remember back in the stone age finding a NASA site where you could download high-res photos of Jupiter(?) It would literally take hours to download one picture to my MS-DOS machine!
One funny thing. The artist is working so hard at realism, I think he kinda overdid it on the ketchup.
He carefully shows all the little bits of tomato and blobs of ketchup stuck to the glass…
But Heinz ketchup is very smooth and thick.
It doesn’t separate into watery parts and scattered tomato-y pieces.
I know that sounds very picky… But before I even realized it was a painting, I wondered what was wrong with the ketchup.
In those few seconds, I thought it might be spoiled.

And those hi-res pictures would be surprisingly low-res by today’s standards.
My sister in law bought a digital camera when they first came down in price to about $400…way less than 1 megapixel resolution.
NASA images were far bigger, but I think 2,000 px wide was considered enormous, and modems were dialup.
I use my iPad to really zoom in with the old “fingers-spread”.
Me too, only I’m on my android tablet.
But I’m sure you know that making low-res images larger doesn’t improve resolution.

It’s very cleverly edited into a loop, so he seems to be leaping from cliff to cliff in perpetuity… or at least for a very long chase.
But there’s only one jump. I’m sure that was quite enough for the studio to contemplate.
